1783 C Nova "Pointed Rays, Lg US" PCGS AU53
Crosby 1-A

Reference #: C57
"This coin boasts smooth and attractive chocolate brown surfaces that are free of problems. The Large U.S. here is actually far stronger than normally seen, even on high end pieces, but a small area of localized weakness softens the wreath above the date. Typical clashing evident on NOVA side."

1783 Copper Washington Triumpho PCGS MS62BN
Reference #: C49
"An amazing example which has to be among the absolutely finest known of this enigmatic coin. Chocolate brown and glossy, and as well struck as this issue is capable of. From a fairly late striking, as some die rust can be seen in the obverse fields, with a great deal more on the reverse, along with the commonly seen die break associated with late strikings, that is rising on the reverse up from the bars. Those bars are believed to symbolize the containment of Britain's power with the American victory in the Revolutionary War. Thirteen bars now stand before her, anchored at each corner by the French symbol fleur de lis. Unlike many early Washingtonia coins, this one is known to have been struck in or about the actual year dated."

1783 Copper "Washington, Large Military" PCGS MS62BN
Reference #: C50
"This example of the Washington Large Military Bust coin is visually stunning to compare against any circulated examples, and it is extremely rare to see any specimen that even approaches this coin in preservation and appeal. Extremely hard and glossy surfaces that are medium brown but show ample hints of subdued mint color around the peripheries. Essentially unimprovable. "

1783 Res Copper "Washington Draped, EE" PCGS PR65RB
Reference #: C51
"The Taylor Restrike of the Washington Draped Bust Copper, and essentially a perfect red and brown coin with proof like, problem free surfaces beaming with mint red around the peripheries. "

1783 Shilling "Chalmers, Long Worm" PCGS VF30
Reference #: C41
"A very clean, original coin with delightfully soft silver gray toning. One light rather hidden toned scratch before the S of SHILLING which is trivial, and no other problems. The long worm type is harder to locate than a short worm, and always brings a premium as a result. On this coin, both of the birds and the worm are clear. The clasped hands on the opposing side are soft but still fully visible. A very pleasing type coin."

1783 Shilling "Chalmers, Short Worm" PCGS VF35
Reference #: C42
"Medium gray toning with glossy surfaces and consistent strong detail on both sides, with the exception of the C in CHALMERS which is weaker though still full. A minor mark right of the left bird and none others worth noting. This is an attractive example of this increasingly popular type coin."
